The flow rate, together with pressure and temperature, is one of the most important parameters for monitoring and controlling fluids, gases, air, etc. inside the pipes. Temperature and pressure are often measured together to calculate the energy flow in a pipe.
The flow rate measurement system with the ultrasonic technology is a volumetric flow meter for liquids and gases.
This technology is the only one that is able to measure a flow without necessarily being intrusive or without requiring mechanical work on the pipe. It has no moving parts and therefore requires no maintenance.
Another system for measuring the flow of air, gas and liquids is that the air or gas flow coming from a heating element located between heat-sensitive resistances is slightly heated. If the temperature profile in the fluid or gas is displaced by the mass flow, a voltage signal dependent on the flow through the temperature difference on the resistances is generated.
